Hardware Recommendations for ZBrush
For ZBrush, Maxon, like most software developers, maintains updated system requirements that you may use to make sure your system's hardware is compatible with their product. Still, what is actually required to operate the software is not covered in this list of "system specs"; rather, it just covers what is necessary to function. We've done the research to determine what kind of hardware will provide artists with the smoothest ZBrush experience possible; we've summarized it here along with some information on commonly used software that goes along with it. This post from CG Obsession is among our best sources.
Processor

One of the most crucial components of a Houdini workstation is the processor, sometimes known as the CPU. The CPU you choose will still often have a considerably greater influence on system performance at this point. However, keep in mind that there is a limit to how many cores Houdini can efficiently utilize, so a CPU that is theoretically more powerful is not always better.
ZBrush is multi-threaded, although it’s such a lightweight program that there isn’t really a case for an extremely high core count. Options with high clock speeds and 16+ cores, like AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X or almost any of Intel’s Core i7 or i9 chips, are perfect for ZBrush.
The minimum CPU recommended for ZBrush is an Intel 11th Generation or newer CPU with Quick Sync or an AMD Ryzen 3000 Series, Threadripper 2000 Series, or newer CPU.
Memory (RAM)
ZBrush uses main system memory, unlike many other 3D tools, where the maximum number of polygons a model can have is determined by the graphics card's VRAM. Still, ZBrush is tuned so effectively that it can run on as little as 16GB of RAM, even for models with tens of millions of polygons. 32GB is a far safer option, though, as most users run multiple programs simultaneously.

Video Card (GPU)

CPU-based programs are ZBrush and its lightweight brother, ZBrush Core. Because of this, unlike many other 3D modeling programs, it doesn't have any particular video card requirements, and an expensive "professional" card is definitely not necessary. It would be sufficient to have a mid-range GPU, such as NVIDIA's RTX 4060 Ti, but keep in mind the requirements of any other apps you may be running. ZBrush is frequently used in conjunction with other 3D applications that might benefit from a more capable video card, such as Blender or Cinema 4D.
Storage Device
Primary Drive: OS/Software (SSD/NVMe): Includes your operating system and the base ZBrush installation. An SSD is highly recommended as it will greatly improve how fast the OS and programs startup, but you can also upgrade to a faster NVMe drive for a small performance benefit. The recommended storage for the installation of software is not more than 10 GB.
Since the primary drive will primarily be used to store Windows and software, including all software (except large Game), it doesn't need to be that large for the majority of users; a 500GB SSD will be enough for Drive C.
Secondary Drive: Project Files (Platter/SSD/NVMe) Having a second storage (either SSD or HHD) for storing assets and effects is a wonderful alternative if you have additional money to spend or keep a lot of them around for use on different projects. Of course, an internal or external hard drive is a more cost-effective option than a high-capacity SSD if you need more mass storage and preservation.
