As Lumion is a single-threaded program, achieving high clock speeds will be the main goal here. Therefore, the best choices are probably standard CPUs from AMD, such as the Ryzen 7, or Intel, like the Core i7 and i9. This is also what many engineering and architecture programs require from a CPU; therefore, most of those programs can also benefit from a system designed for Lumion.

There are two primary standards for CPUs that determine their capabilities: Firstly, the frequency has a direct impact on the number of operations (or speed) that a single CPU core can perform in a second. The quantity of physical cores in a CPU, or the number of simultaneous processes it can do, is known as its core count.

When Lumion is working with huge and intricate 3D models, it might consume a significant amount of RAM, or system memory. The model must first be loaded into main memory, even though the visual card handles the rendering. Larger projects should typically require 64GB, but smaller ones can probably get by with 32GB. If you frequently run multiple apps concurrently, you might want to double those values.

The main source of Lumion's performance is its graphics card! For Lumion, the more processing power your GPU has, the better; therefore, we usually advise getting the greatest graphics card you can afford. For higher-end computers, Lumion also suggests 16GB of VRAM; therefore, NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4080 16GB and 4090 24GB are excellent choices. Other GeForce RTX 40 Series cards might work just as well for people with simpler or smaller models.

Due to Lumion's design to operate with a dual monitor arrangement, this class of video card will also handle multiple outputs. Also, DisplayPort is the most popular output format on modern video cards, so check to make sure your screens have the right inputs, or if not, try to pick up any adapters you may need ahead of time.

Primary Drive: OS/Software (SSD/NVMe): Includes your operating system and the base Lumion installation. An SSD is highly recommended as it will greatly improve how fast the OS and programs startup, but you can also upgrade to a faster NVMe drive for a small performance benefit. The recommended storage for installation of software is not more than 10 GB.

Since the primary drive will primarily be used to store Windows and software, including all software (except large Game), it doesn't need to be that large for the majority of users; a 500GB-1TB SSD will be enough for Drive C.

Secondary Drive: Project Files (Platter/SSD/NVMe) Having a second storage (either SSD or HHD) for storing assets and effects is a wonderful alternative if you have additional money to spend or keep a lot of them around for use on different projects. Of course, an internal or external hard drive is a more cost-effective option than a high-capacity SSD if you need more mass storage and preservation.
