Hardware Recommendations for FL Studio
Because FL Studio is a digital audio workstation (DAW), its performance is mostly determined by its processor (CPU), RAM (system memory), storage system (drives), and video card (GPU). The sections that follow offer guidance on each of those subjects; these rules also apply to other DAWs, such as Reaper.
Processor

For low to moderate tasks in FL Studio, CPUs like Intel's Core i7 and i9 processors are appropriate because they offer a good number of cores together with high clock speeds. AMD Threadripper CPUs may be a better choice if you have a lot of tracks (40+), as they offer larger memory capacities. Although upgrading to the 32-core Threadripper 7980X is often not worth it for FL Studio due to its excessive price tag, the 7970X is a well-balanced option.
FL Studio has several threads, but it also has a decreasing return point. The core count should increase with the number of tracks used; ideally, it should be between 16 and 32 cores. Additionally, some plugins may require more computing power.
Memory (RAM)
RAM is an essential element in FL Studio performance. Although FL Studio creators state that "8GB is probably enough" and that it doesn't often require as much RAM as other DAWs, there are several VSTs, like Spectrasonics Atmosphere and Omnisphere, that may quickly use up a lot of RAM, and high track counts (40+) can raise that RAM consumption even higher. Therefore, 32GB is the minimum amount we advise; however, 64GB or even 128GB are definitely choices if you expect to use a significant amount of VSTs and tracks. If they utilize heavier VSTs or a lot of them, some users may potentially require up to 256GB.

Video Card (GPU)

Since multiple displays greatly improve DAW processes, having a dedicated video card is still a good idea, even though the GPU is one of the less important parts of a digital audio workstation. Something to note is that low noise levels are extremely important, especially when recording music, so blower-style cards should definitely be avoided.
An entry-level nVidia Quadro graphics card can power multiple large QHD monitors for most users who do not plan to do any graphical work in addition to their audio work. For the most advanced studio setups, the Nvidia Quadro RTX A2000 can support multiple monitors without breaking the bank.
Storage Device
Primary Drive: OS/Software (SSD/NVMe): Includes your operating system and the base FL Studio installation. An SSD is highly recommended as it will greatly improve how fast the OS and programs startup, but you can also upgrade to a faster NVMe drive for a small performance benefit. The recommended storage for installation of software is not more than 10 GB.
Since the primary drive will primarily be used to store Windows and software, including all software (except large Game), it doesn't need to be that large for the majority of users; a 500GB-1TB SSD will be enough for Drive C.
Secondary Drive: Project Files (Platter/SSD/NVMe) Having a second storage (either SSD or HHD) for storing assets and effects is a wonderful alternative if you have additional money to spend or keep a lot of them around for use on different projects. Of course, an internal or external hard drive is a more cost-effective option than a high-capacity SSD if you need more mass storage and preservation.
